BERLIN, Aug 18, 2014 (AFP) - Turkish international midfielder Mehmet Ekici ended a largely unhappy spell at Bundesliga side Werder Bremen and signed for Turkey top tier outfit Trabzonspor on Monday, the selling club announced.
Bremen, though, did not reveal the fee or the length of the contract the 24-year-old had agreed to with Trabzonspor, who finished fourth in the Turkish championship last season.
Ekici, who came through the Bayern Munich youth academy, scored four times in 41 appearances for Bremen since he joined in 2011.
Ekici represented German national teams at youth level before opting in 2010 to play for Turkey, where his parents were born.
