Timo Horn has agreed to extend his stay at FC Koln after putting pen to paper on a contract extension until 2022.

Horn, whose original deal was set to expire in 2019, signed the new deal just hours before Koln's encounter with Borussia Monchengladbach in the Rheinland derby.

"Timo Horn is an excellent goalkeeper," Koln manager Peter Stoger said. "His development at FC is remarkable and documents his ambition. It is phenomenal that he has decided for a long-term future with FC."

After coming through the team's youth system, Horn, 23, made his first-team debut in 2011 and has gone on to feature in 155 matches for the Billy Goats in all competitions.

"FC is my club and Cologne is my sporting home," Horn said. "The club has made tremendous progress in recent years and I want to continue on this path together. I remain ambitious and am convinced that we can still accomplish plenty together."
