Gonzalo Castro has committed his future to Borussia Dortmund after putting pen to paper on a new contract until 2020, the Bundesliga side announced.
"I'm really happy about the trust the club has placed in me," he told the team's website.
"I can honestly say that it makes me proud to pull on the black and yellow jersey and play football in front of such amazing fans."
Castro spent 16 years at Bayer Leverkusen before Dortmund triggered an €11-million release clause in his contract in 2015.
The 29-year-old has played a prominent role under manager Thomas Tuchel since his arrival, and has featured in 30 of Dortmund's 36 matches in all competitions this term.
