Bayern Munich's Vidal, Coman expected to return vs. Freiburg
Arturo Vidal and Kingsley Coman have recovered from their respective injuries in time to possibly feature in Bayern Munich's opening match of the second half of the Bundesliga season Friday.
There were concerns regarding Vidal's availability after the Chilean was forced to leave Bayern's 2017 Telekom Cup triumph with a rib injury, which also kept him out of the team's training session earlier this week.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti, however, expects the former Juventus midfielder to feature against Freiburg.
"He trained on Wednesday," Ancelotti said, according to Mark Lovell of ESPNFC. "He received a blow to the back as well, but he can play."
Meanwhile, Ancelotti also confirmed Coman has recovered from a muscle injury, which he suffered while on international duty with France in November, and that the young forward will be available for Friday's encounter.
Bayern enters the second half of the season with a three-point edge on RB Leipzig for top spot in the table.
