Ex-Germany goalkeeper Tim Wiese set for WWE debut
Just a few years since Germany pinned its hopes on Tim Wiese as national team goalkeeper, the 34-year-old is now preparing to pin down some of WWE's brawniest and bravest.
Wiese, who swapped a career between the sticks with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim for a life on the road in 2014, is finally set for his official WWE debut in Munich next month and has sounded an early warning to rivals: "I am unbeatable."
He chose a change of sport because he "no longer cares two figs about football," and is now set to test his strength against the likes of WWE Superstars like Cesaro and Sheamus.
"I will hurt the others - they won't hurt me," said Wiese. "Whoever takes it up with me, I am unbeatable."
The six-time international is poised to debutin his homeland, and is expecting to become a heel when inside the squared circle.
"I think I'll be the bad guy," he continued. "That's okay, I can get used to it. I was the bad person during my time as a footballer when opposing fans insulted me in the stadiums.
"I can cope with it. They can all hate me if they want. The Germans might love me, or they might not. I don't have a clue."
Replenished with a tan and, unsurprisingly, a bulked-up physique, Wiese is about to find out how his highly anticipated step into the ring goes after progressing through WWE's Performance Center thanks to an invite from future Hall of Famer Triple H.
