Former NBA referee Tim Donaghy has agreed to appear as an official for Major League Wrestling, according to Sports Illustrated's Justin Barrasso.
"If there is a good response, who knows where it can go from here," Donaghy said. "I'm willing to do whatever I can to make the show entertaining and fun for everyone watching, and I'm excited to be a part of it.”
Donaghy, 53, is best known for his involvement in a gambling scandal through which he bet on games he officiated and leaked inside information, such as injuries, to criminal associates during the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons.
He pleaded guilty to two felony counts - conspiracy to engage in wire fraud and conspiracy to engage in wagering over state lines - for which he ultimately served 11 months of two concurrent 15-month sentences.
