Eugenie Bouchard had herself a day.
Just 90 minutes after gutting out a marathon three-set victory over Dominika Cibulkova to advance to the Round of 16 in the US Open singles draw, Bouchard hit the court again for a first-round mixed doubles match with famed hothead/tennis iconoclast Nick Kyrgios.
Neither the quick turnaround nor Kyrgios' antics seemed to wear on Bouchard. On their way to winning their match, Bouchard showed great patience, gently reminding her partner to keep his emotions in check.
Kyrgios admitted after the match that he was the one who broke the ice and approached Bouchard about teaming up for doubles.
Looks like he chose well.
