Desperate times call for desperate measures, and Maria Sharapova was reduced to desperation in this second-set rally Sunday, as Anastasija Sevastova yo-yo'd her around the court.
Twice Sevastova sent lobs over Sharapova's left shoulder and into the ad corner, and twice Sharapova countered by switching hands and knocking the ball back with lefty forehands. It worked, too. The ambidextrous Russian managed to get back to level on the point, and finally win it when Sevastova netted a drop shot.
