Selanne on playing with Barkov and Granlund in Sochi: 'the young guys keep me young too'
If there was any concern about Teemu Selanne keeping up with Aleksander Barkov and Mikael Granlund while playing for Finland at the Olympics in Sochi, teammate Lauri Korpikosi has declared "I think it's going to be the other way around."
The Phoenix Coyotes forward, who's had the opportunity to watch the trio in practice added "he's still got some good wheels. It's going to be fun to see two young kids playing with the old guy, and it looks like they have some good chemistry."
For his part, Selanne, who will be gunning for his fourth Olympic medal, feels like he's on the same level as the youngsters, despite the considerable age gap. "I always said that the young guys keep me young too," Selanne told Helene Elliot of the Los Angeles Times on Tuesday. "The funny thing, I think mentally we are the same age."
He added "I'm a little kid still. That's why I'm still playing," he said. "I don't consider this as a job. It's a game that I love to play."
