Katie Ledecky thinks she might be related to surprise gold winner Ester Ledecka
Ester Ledecka's shocking win in the women's super-G didn't just catch the attention of everyone watching (including NBC, which had already announced Anna Veith as the winner before Ledecka's run), but also of a fellow Olympic gold medalist.
Katie Ledecky, who won four golds and a silver in the pool at Rio 2016, took to Twitter following Ledecka's win to express her excitement and hint the two could be related:
That's what Ledecka's do!!! @DanHicksNBC #PyeongChang2018

Ester, I think we're related, we need to do a DNA test? #CousinsInGold 🇨🇿 https://t.co/2mUradCr4C

Ledecka has been asked about the similar surnames before.
"She's not my sister. But I wish she was because she's very good," Ledecka told the Associated Press in 2016. "I cheer for her every time like we are sisters."
The AP reported at the time the two are not related, but maybe they should do that DNA test just to make sure.
