Canada's Mikael Kingsbury, the favorite in men's moguls heading into PyeongChang 2018, delivered a flawless final run to capture the first Olympic gold medal of his decorated career on Monday.

He had previously grabbed a silver in Sochi four years ago.

A six-time world champion, the 25-year-old threw down a huge score of 86.63, which stood not only as the top mark of the final run but the best of any competitor in the last three elimination rounds.

On the back of consecutive gold medals for Alexandre Bilodeau in 2010 and 2014, Kingsbury's triumph makes it three gold medals on the trot for Canada.

Joining him on the podium at Phoenix Snow Park were Australian Matt Graham and Japan's Daichi Hara. Canadian Marc-Antoine Gagnon, meanwhile, finished fourth for a second consecutive Winter Olympics.
