Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham will miss the remainder of the 2025 season due to a right knee injury, the team announced Tuesday.

Cunningham got hurt in Sunday's win over the Connecticut Sun. She shifted over to help defend a drive by Connecticut guard Bria Hartley, who crashed into Cunningham's right leg.

It's Indiana's third significant injury blow in August alone: The team is already without Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson for the year due to a foot fracture and torn ACL, respectively.

Fever star Caitlin Clark has also been sidelined since the All-Star break with a groin issue and doesn't have a return timeline.

Cunningham, 28, averaged 8.6 points in 30 appearances for Indiana this season, making 13 starts. She also averaged 3.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, one steal, and shot a team-best 43.2% from distance.

In a corresponding move, the Fever signed Shey Peddy to a seven-day hardship contract. The 36-year-old appeared in six games for the Los Angeles Sparks in June, averaging five points, three rebounds, and 2.7 assists while making five starts.
