Candace Parker: Fights like Green and Poole's 'happen a lot' in WNBA

Chicago Sky star forward Candace Parker says the WNBA is no stranger to altercations between teammates.

Parker explained to Insider's Meredith Cash that intra-squad fights - like the one that occurred recently between Golden State Warriors teammates Draymond Green and Jordan Poole - "happen a lot" in the WNBA. She doesn't necessarily view these fights negatively, though.

"The toughest teams I've ever been on - and by toughest, I mean the hardest to play in the environment - are when people don't say what needs to be said," the two-time WNBA champion said. "You know, I would almost rather a blowup, and then we're able to solve the problem, versus people being quiet in meetings and not saying how they really feel or expressing themselves. Those are the teams that lose."

Green punched Poole in the face at a practice earlier in October. The Warriors fined Green and he took time away from the team. Poole said this week that his teammate has apologized and they're both ready to move on from the incident.

"Obviously, I think that there's a place and a time for it and, you know, do emotions get the best of us sometimes? Absolutely," Parker said. "But it is a part of it, and it's about dealing with it with the team and not having to explain to everyone.

"And I think that's what Golden State was trying to accomplish."
