Reina pulls out of Spain squad with injury

Athletic Bilbao youngster Kepa Arrizabalaga will have a chance to win his first senior cap with Spain after veteran net-minder Pepe Reina was forced to withdraw through injury.

The decision comes after the Spanish Football Federation determined Reina's unspecified injury was not progressing as hoped.

In his place, the country opted to call up the 22-year-old, who was originally selected to represent the country's Under-21 team.

There's no word on the exact nature of Reina's injury or if he will miss time after the break when he rejoins Napoli.

Spain takes on Israel during a World Cup qualifier Friday before visiting France four days later.
