Federico Bernardeschi is the latest member to pull out of the Italian national team after the Fiorentina player was ruled out of upcoming matches against Albania and the Netherlands due to injury.
A replacement for Bernardeschi, who is nursing a calf injury, was not announced.
News of Bernardeschi's injury comes a day after Manolo Gabbiadini withdrew from the team because of a groin problem. The Southampton player was replaced by Atalanta forward Andrea Petagna.
Bernardeschi has scored 10 goals and provided four assists in 25 Serie A matches this season.
Italy plays a World Cup qualifier against Albania on March 24 before a friendly against the Netherlands four days later.
