Two-time reigning FIFA Player of the Year Carli Lloyd scored her first Manchester City goal Thursday in a Champions League quarter-final first-leg 1-0 victory over Danes Fortuna Hjorring.
Tic-Tac-Toe, as Jill Scott's marauding midfield run found Jane Ross in loads of space before the Scottish international fired a pinpoint cross onto Lloyd's head for a vital away goal.
Now expected to make the last-four, City will be faced with the uneviable task of playing the winner of the Wolfsburg-Lyon tie, a clash of two of the most successful sides in Europe's top-tier tourney, with the latter the defending champion.
