Team Europe has called on Mikkel Boedker to fill in for Marian Gaborik.
With Gaborik sidelined with a foot injury, Europe will dress Boedker when it opens the final round of the World Cup on Tuesday, coach Ralph Krueger confirmed. Europe faces Canada in a best-of-three series.
Boedker has been a healthy scratch for Europe throughout the World Cup, but played in two exhibition games, in which he was held pointless.
The Danish winger split last season between the Arizona Coyotes and Colorado Avalanche. Boedker, 26, signed with the San Jose Sharks this offseason.
