Los Angeles Dodgers slugger Freddie Freeman left Canada's World Baseball Classic game against Colombia on Tuesday with a slight hamstring issue, the team told Fox Sports' Jon Morosi.

Freeman won't be available for Canada's final game of pool play Wednesday against Mexico, reports Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.

Canadian manager Ernie Whitt said the 33-year-old returned to Dodgers camp for further treatment and that he is "out of this tournament for now."

Denzel Clarke replaced Freeman to start the bottom of the fourth. Clarke went to center field, while Jacob Robson shifted from center to right, and Jared Young moved from right to first base, where Freeman played.

The former NL MVP is playing for Canada to honor his late mother, Rosemary, who died of melanoma when he was 10 years old.

Freeman entered Tuesday going 2-for-10 with one RBI and three runs scored.

The six-time All-Star hit .325/.407/.511 with 21 homers and 13 stolen bases in his first season with the Dodgers last year, finishing fourth in NL MVP voting.
