Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. exited in the second inning of Friday's spring training game against the Tampa Bay Rays with right knee discomfort, the team announced.

The club added that an MRI on Saturday revealed Guerrero is dealing with minor inflammation, according to Keegan Matheson of MLB.com.

Guerrero suffered the injury running the basepaths following a single in the first inning. He jogged very slowly into second base on a throw to home.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said the team hasn't made any decisions yet about Guerrero's participation at the World Baseball Classic, according to Jayson Stark of The Athletic.

The 23-year-old All-Star was scheduled to join the Dominican team Sunday for the WBC, per Matheson.

Guerrero was off to a hot start this spring, going deep twice with five RBIs across three exhibition games.
