Mark-Anthony Kaye was declared fit to start Canada's much-anticipated World Cup qualifier against the United States on Sunday.

U.S. players Brenden Aaronson and Gyasi Zardes took the starting places of Jesus Ferreira and Timothy Weah for the visiting team, while Ricardo Pepi remains on Gregg Berhalter's bench.

Canada occupies top spot in the final round of CONCACAF qualifying ahead of kickoff, just one point ahead of the second-seeded U.S. side and two ahead of third-place Mexico. Panama holds fourth place - which grants entry to the single-elimination intercontinental World Cup playoff - and is three points adrift of Mexico.

Canada starting XI: Borjan; Johnston, Vitoria, Miller, Adekugbe; Laryea, Kaye, Osorio, Buchanan; Larin, David

United States starting XI: Turner; Dest, M. Robinson, Richards, A. Robinson; Musah, Adams, McKennie; Aaronson, Zardes, Pulisic
