Atalanta overcome Dortmund to reach Champions League last 16
Lazar Samardzic scored a stoppage-time penalty as Atalanta overturned a two-goal deficit with a 4-1 win over Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday to reach the Champions League last 16, advancing 4-3 on aggregate.
Dortmund led 2-0 from the first leg last week but Atalanta levelled the tie by half-time in Bergamo, and then led through a Mario Pasalic goal.
Karim Adeyemi brought Dortmund even and it looked destined for extra time before Samardzic struck from the spot with the final kick of the match after Ramy Bensebaini was sent off for a dangerous challenge on Nikola Krstovic.
