Guarani midfielder Marcelo Jose Palau Balzaretti gave the home side a 1-0 advantage with a deft scissor kick in Copa Libertadores action versus Ecuadorian side Independiente del Valle Thursday.

Palau's goal cancelled out Independiente's 1-0 first-leg victory, before both sides exchanged tallies in a 2-1 victory for the Paraguayan top flight to deadlock the aggregate tie at 2-2.
