Liverpool looked set for a disastrous first half against Bordeaux in this group stage UEFA Europa League match, having conceded off a rare indirect free-kick near the half-hour mark.

But after James Milner scoring a penalty goal soon after to draw the teams level, Liverpool forward Christian Benteke took the game into his own hands with this rocket strike at the stroke of halftime to give his side a 2-1 lead.

Benteke's first touch was sublime, and his finish left Bordeaux goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso shaking his head.
