Those who are due to journey to Baku will not return to England until around 5 a.m. on Friday, according to David Hytner of the Guardian, before facing a midday meeting with Chelsea on Sunday. Despite the scheduling issues, a stacked Spurs outfit will visit the European tournament's minnow.
Only Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, and Moussa Dembele have been omitted from the 21-man roster through choice. Nacer Chadli, Nabil Bentaleb, Erik Lamela, and Alex Pritchard will all be forced to sit out the match due to their respective injuries.
Although Pochettino will be joined on the plane by a talented bunch, the travelling squad still has a strong academy presence, with nine former youth team members making the trip:
Player | Age | European appearances |
---|---|---|
Andros Townsend | 24 | 24 |
Harry Kane | 22 | 16 |
Tom Carroll | 23 | 11 |
Ryan Mason | 24 | 5 |

Josh Onomah | 18 | 2 |
Luke McGee | 20 | 0 |
Shayon Harrison | 19 | 0 |
Cameron Carter-Vickers | 17 | 0 |
