Turkish side Trabzonspor traps officials following controversial non-call

Proving Turkish football is always full of surprises, Trabzonspor staff locked referee Cagatay Sahan and his assistants in a room Wednesday after they didn't award a late penalty during a 2-2 draw with Gaziantepspor, BBC Sport reports.
Apparently Trabzonspor didn't fancy Sahan's judgment or lack thereof, as the referee and his colleagues were locked in the stadium for several hours on the orders of club president Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu. A call from Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan prompted their release, according to Haciosmanoglu.
After the club's archaic means of expressing their dissent with the non-call, the Turkish Football Federation has launched an investigation.
