Spurs complete Sanchez switch for reported club-record fee
Tottenham's obsession with luring Ajax stars to north London continues as Spurs cemented a move for Colombian centre-back Davinson Sanchez on Wednesday.
Spurs announced the signing with a statement on their website, adding that the 21-year-old has put pen to paper on a six-year deal through June 2023 for an undisclosed fee.
Reports suggest Tottenham shelled out £40 million for the robust defender, shattering the club-record £30-million fee paid for Moussa Sissoko's services. The fee paid to Ajax also stands as an Eredivisie record.
Sanchez joins fellow former Ajax stars Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, and Christian Eriksen at Tottenham's temporary Wembley Stadium digs after a single season in the Dutch top flight.
After Spurs secured the services of third-choice 'keeper Paulo Gazzaniga earlier Wednesday, Sanchez marks the club's second signing of the summer on the heels of last season's Premier League runner-up honours.
