Days after Dani Alves confirmed he's leaving Juventus after one season in Italy's top flight, Turkish giant Fenerbahce has released a statement denying interest in the Brazilian full-back.

An unconventional approach to denying rampant transfer speculation, Fenerbahce refuted rumours with an announcement on its website Sunday.

"There is news in some of the newspapers today that our club is interested in Dani Alves," the statement reads, as translated by Squawka.

"There is no interest in the football player from our club. We would like to advise our fans that this lie is an unfounded report."

The 100-time capped Brazilian ended his Juventus stay a year early after making 19 Serie A appearances paired with a dozen outings as part of the Old Lady's run to the Champions League final. With the Bianconeri, Alves won the domestic double to take his European trophy haul to an astounding 30.

Alves remains heavily linked to rejoin Barcelona tutor Pep Guardiola at Manchester City as the Etihad local looks to augment a weakness at full-back. Tottenham's Kyle Walker and Monaco's Benjamin Mendy are also expected to make the Lancashire shift this summer as the Citizens fill the voids vacated by the departures Bacary Sagna, Pablo Zabaleta, and Gael Clichy.
