Buffon sets Serie A record for longest run without conceding a goal
Remember the last time Gianluigi Buffon was beaten in Serie A action? Neither does he.
The ageless Juventus shot-stopper has added another record to his repertoire, setting the Serie A standard for the longest run without conceding a goal (930 minutes).
By keeping Torino off the scoresheet for the opening four minutes of Sunday's contest, Buffon, 38, surpassed former AC Milan 'keeper Sebastiano Rossi, who went 929 minutes without being beaten during the 1992-93 campaign.
Torino would eventually put an end to the impressive run, with a penalty from Andrea Belotti capping Buffon's streak at 974 minutes - despite the setback, the Bianconeri would go on to win the match, 4-1.
Prior to the converted spot-kick on Sunday, the Italy No. 1 hadn't been forced to pick the ball out of his net in league play since January 10, when Sampdoria's Antonio Cassano scored in a 2-1 Juventus victory.
