Longevity, thy name is Gianluigi Buffon.
The iconic Juventus shot-stopper, whose £32.6-million transfer to the club from Parma in 2001 remains the most expensive fee ever paid for a goalkeeper, etched his name in the Bianconeri history books on Wednesday, surpassing club legend Alessandro Del Piero as the all-time minutes played leader.

Buffon set the new mark in the second half of Wednesday's Champions League contest against Borussia Monchengladbach, a dour 0-0 affair that wasn't nearly befitting of the veteran's impressive accomplishment.
