"From today, my new adventure starts with Bologna," Destro wrote on his official account. "I will give it my all to repay your faith! I'm coming!"
Terms have not been disclosed. Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports the deal is worth up to €10 million, including performance-related bonuses.
Destro participated in Roma's preseason tour of Australia this summer after spending the second half of the 2014-15 season on loan at AC Milan, where he scored just three goals in 15 appearances.
Premier League club Norwich City was also interested in Destro, with manager Alex Neil confirming discussions over the Italian.
