Juventus director general insists Paul Pogba isn't for sale: 'Conditions are not right'
Paul Pogba's future at Juventus remains clouded by uncertainty.
Despite the 22-year-old defensive midfielder's agent, Mino Raiola, recently claiming his client would leave the club if the "right offer" came along, Juventus are sticking to their guns and insisting that Pogba will not be going anywhere this summer.
In conversation with RadioUno, Juventus's director general and sports department chief executive stressed that selling Pogba must happen at the appropriate time, while pointing to the club's history in the transfer market.
"At the moment, Pogba is one of the best young players in the world so it's normal that many big clubs would set their sights on him," Giuseppe Marotta said, according to the Guardian. "But we, too, are a big club and we're not in the habit of selling our best players.
"Look back over our long history and Juve have sanctioned very few sales of big-name players. And, at the moment, the conditions are not right to put Pogba on the market."
Pogba, who is linked with moves to Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City, renewed his contract with Juventus until 2019 in October. He's notched seven goals and two assists in Serie A this season as the club's anchor in the midfield.
