Lazio drew 1-1 with Chievo over the weekend in a match that most notable for something that did not take place on the pitch. Not even on the ground, actually.
As is customary, the club, nicknamed Le Aquile (The Eagles), released their eagle mascot to fly above the Stadio Olimpico prior to the opening kick-off.
Not quite so customary, however, was the harassment the big bird of prey had to endure on its flight. The mascot was attacked by a crow, with a shot of the incident expertly captured by the photographers on scene:

One more crow and we could have had a murder on our hands.
