Phillippe Mexes lost his mind following AC Milan's second half collapse against Lazio on Saturday.
The defender, visibly upset with Stefano Mauri's earlier challenge and possibly frustrated by his team's lack of effort after halftime, responded by grabbing the Lazio player by the throat.
That wasn't enough for Mexes, as he went on to grab Mauri around the throat again, this time with his forearm, and then delivered a head-butt.
Lazio players came to the defense of their teammate and began to push Mexes and question his motives for doing such a foolish thing.
Mexes was subsequently shown a straight red card and walked off the pitch in shame to a chorus of boos and whistles.
