Juventus appoint Massimiliano Allegri as new manager
Juventus wasted no time replacing Antonio Conte following his resignation on Tuesday.
The Italian club announced Wednesday that they have appointed former AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri as Conte's successor, agreeing to a two-year, £1.6 million deal.

Allegri was let go by Milan in January as the team ended up finishing a disappointing eighth in the Serie A last season. The 46-year-old spent the last three and a half seasons at the San Siro, but managed to win the league just once during that time.

Allegri inherits a strong Juventus side who have claimed top spot in the Serie A in each of the last three seasons.
The move also reunites Allegri with midfielder Andrea Pirlo, who joined Juventus after being let go by Milan in 2011 as the manager reportedly wanted a more physical presence.
“I have a great relationship with Pirlo. He’s a world class performer and always played when he was with me at Milan. He was unlucky in his last season due to a few injuries and struggled to fully recover, subsequently moving to Juventus, but thankfully, after three years, I’m lucky enough to be able to work with him again.”
