Atalanta late show secures place in Italian Cup final

Atalanta will play Juventus in the final of the Italian Cup after scoring twice in stoppage time to defeat Fiorentina 4-1 on Wednesday in the second leg of their last-four clash.

Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, Atalanta looked to be heading for extra time in Bergamo after goals from Teun Koopmeiners and Gianluca Scamacca either side of Lucas Martinez Quarta's equaliser.

Fiorentina played most of the second half with 10 men after Nikola Milenkovic's red card and the visitors cracked in the dying moments as goals from Ademola Lookman and Mario Pasalic sent Atalanta through 4-2 on aggregate.

Atalanta, who are also into the Europa League semi-finals after knocking out Liverpool, lifted the Italian Cup for the only time in 1963.

They have finished runners-up on four occasions since, including losing 2-1 to Juventus in the final three years ago.

The final is scheduled for May 15 at Rome's Stadio Olimpico.
