Brazil judge refuses to delay Robinho's 9-year rape sentence
A Brazilian judge on Thursday rejected a bid by former Manchester City and Real Madrid footballer Robinho to delay his nine-year-sentence, imposed by an Italian court, for participating in a gang rape 11 years ago.
"I reject the request for precautionary measures and the detention order is maintained... so that he can begin serving his sentence," Supreme Court Judge Luiz Fux said in a ruling.
