Udinese Calcio reportedly isn't giving priority to Liverpool in the race for Piotr Zielinski's signature.

According to Phil McNulty of BBC Sport, Udinese turned down Liverpool's £11.7-million bid for Zielinski but accepted an identical offer from Napoli. However, the Reds apparently hope a deal can still be reached given that the Polish midfielder wants to join them, and he indicated that he'll see out the last two years of his contract at the Stadio Friuli and join the Merseyside club on a free transfer if need be.

It was reported in January that Liverpool was monitoring Zielinski with a view to a summer deal, and the Reds allegedly tabled a £9.5-million bid in June.

Zielinski spent last season on loan at Empoli, where he tallied five goals and four assists through 35 Serie A appearances.
