Mario Balotelli was in a contrite mood following Sunday's 3-3 draw with lowly Frosinone.
The AC Milan striker, on loan from Liverpool, missed a penalty early in the second half of the contest, with his side down 2-0 at the time.
Though the struggling host ultimately bounced back to earn a point, the Italian striker reportedly put in a call to Adriano Galliani after the match to apologise for his failed spot-kick.

The typically reliable penalty-taker almost made amends for his miss in the waning seconds when he smashed a long-range effort off the crossbar. The 25-year-old remains stuck on three goals in 21 matches (in all competitions) this season.
