After more than a year, Kevin Strootman is finally back in Roma's starting squad.
Although the Dutch midfielder has been out for a considerable amount of time after battling various knee injuries, Luciano Spalletti elected to deploy Strootman in the midfield as Roma gets set to take on Genoa.
Unfortunately, his return comes at a time when Roma's hopes of lifting the title have already been dashed after Juventus captured its fifth straight Scudetto.
Strootman, however, has a chance to play an important role in Roma's quest to qualify for the Champions League. The Giallorossi is currently in a comfortable position to qualify as it sits seven points clear of Inter Milan in the final Champions League spot.
