Texans' Watson surprises his mom with home renovation

When Deshaun Watson was 11 years old, his family moved from government housing into a Habitat for Humanity house in Gainesville, Ga.

His mother, Deann Watson, earned that house by completing hundreds of hours of community service and fulfilling a number of other eligibility requirements, and still lives there today.

To repay her hard work, the Houston Texans quarterback recently surprised his mom by giving her home a makeover documented on an episode of "My Houzz."

"She's always been a fighter, and that really inspired me," Deshaun said of his mom, a cancer survivor. "If she can get through that, no type of adversity can hold me back for what I want to achieve."

Deann certainly seemed to appreciate the final product.

"I could just see it in her eyes. She was very moved," said Deshaun. "Everything she saw, she loved it, so it was good ... Being a son and being able to take care of your mom and help her out felt good."
