The Juventus star became the first person to reach 150 million followers on the popular social media platform. His followers account for 15 percent of Instagram's users, according to ESPN.

In October, Ronaldo surpassed singer and actress Selena Gomez as the most followed person on Instagram. Gomez's follower count is currently sitting at around 144 million.
