The Chicago White Sox decided not to tender a contract to outfielder Avisail Garcia. As a result, he will become a free agent.

Garcia, 27, was entering his third year of arbitration eligibility and was projected to earn $8 million in 2019.

Though he's coming off a rough, injury-riddled campaign, Garcia isn't far removed from being one of the best hitters on the White Sox. In 2017, he hit .330/.380/.506 with 18 home runs and 27 doubles en route to his first All-Star appearance.
