Minnesota Timberwolves guard Derrick Rose had a throwback performance Wednesday night, setting a new career high with 50 points on 19-of-31 shooting, helping his team beat the Utah Jazz 128-125.

It was Rose's first game of 40-plus points since setting his career high of 44 points in a Chicago Bulls playoff game versus the Atlanta Hawks on May 6, 2011.

Rose also tallied six assists, four rebounds, and a pair of steals. He also picked a good time to record his lone block of the evening, rejecting Jazz guard Dante Exum on a potential game-tying 3-pointer:

After collecting himself, Rose addressed the media at the postgame press conference, noting how, after several years bouncing around the league, he seems to have found the right fit with the Timberwolves.

"Man, everything happened for a reason. That's how I feel," said Rose, according to NBA TV. "I come in, I work my butt off every day. And the last couple of years, I've just been looking for an opportunity to go out there and play the way I normally play, and that's a free and easy game. Just having the ball in my hands."
