Yankees sign Luis Severino's younger brother

The New York Yankees hope the signing of another Severino pays out as well as the first.

Luis Severino's 19-year-old brother, Rafael, was signed by the Yankees and given the news by his older sibling.

"He was flipping out. He didn't believe it," Luis Severino said at Yankee Stadium Monday, according to ESPN's Coley Harvey.

Luis also announced the signing on his Instagram, while wishing congratulations to his brother.

The older Severino brother, 24, is one of the best starters in all of baseball. His 13 wins lead MLB alongside an AL-best 1.98 ERA.

He had nothing but compliments for his younger brother, who already throws more pitches than he did at the same age, although he only throws 88-89 mph on the radar gun.

"He doesn't throw that hard, he's really skinny," Luis Severino said. "But when he gets stronger, he's going to throw hard."
