Virginia Tech quarterback Josh Jackson is awaiting a decision from the university regarding an academic issue that could rule him ineligible.

Jackson is still on the team, but his status is expected to be determined within the week.

"As of right now, Josh is still a member of the Virginia Tech football team,” Jackson's father, Fred said to Mike Barber of the Richmond Times-Dispatch. "We'll know more in two days. It’s too early to talk about this."

Jackson completed 60.3 percent of his passes for 2,743 yards and 19 touchdowns against 18 interceptions. He also rushed for 274 yards and four additional touchdowns as a freshman in 2017.
