Kyle Korver has been excused by the Cleveland Cavaliers after the death of his younger brother, the team announced.

Kirk Korver, 27, died Tuesday in Iowa after a short illness, according to Cleveland.com's Joe Vardon. Kyle, 37, had missed Friday's game against the Chicago Bulls tending to the matter. He's not expected to be with the team for Wednesday's home game against the Toronto Raptors.

Kirk played college basketball from 2009-14 with the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
