Goal-happy Inter striker Mauro Icardi showed off his supreme scoring ability Sunday, scoring a hat-trick in 14 first-half minutes against former side Sampdoria in a variety of ways.

Ivan Perisic's opener provided the foundation for Icardi to do his thing. The Argentinian added another in the second half to give him a quadruple of tallies on the day and Inter a commanding 5-0 lead.

Icardi - who hadn't found the back of the net since Jan. 5 - opened his account from the penalty spot at the half-hour mark to cushion the Nerazzurri's lead.

It was a noteworthy strike: At 25 years and 27 days old, Icardi became the sixth-youngest player to reach 100 goals in Serie A.

Icardi one-upped himself a minute later with a tremendous backheel effort that will earn a spot on highlight reels across Europe.

Icardi banged in a loose ball just before the interval to cap an extraordinary 45 minutes at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

But he wasn't done there. Minutes after returning to the pitch, the Argentinian struck a volley that bounced off the ground and soared over sprawling goalkeeper Emiliano Viviano.

The hat-trick is Icardi's sixth since making his league debut for Sampdoria in the 2012-13 campaign - more than any other player in that span.
