The Cleveland Browns traded quarterback Kenny Pickett to the Las Vegas Raiders for a 2026 fifth-round pick, the teams announced Monday.

Aidan O'Connell, who was projected to be Geno Smith's backup in Las Vegas, is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks with a broken wrist.

Pickett did not appear in a preseason game for the Browns due to a hamstring injury he suffered in late July. However, the former first-round pick has returned to doing on-field work at practice.

Cleveland acquired Pickett from the Philadelphia Eagles in March for signal-caller Dorian Thompson-Robinson and a 2026 fifth-round selection.

Pickett joins Sam Howell as the only two players in the last 30 years to be traded three-plus times in their first four NFL seasons, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

With Pickett heading to the Raiders, the Browns' quarterback depth chart now features starter Joe Flacco plus rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.

Pickett appeared in five regular-season contests for the Eagles last year, completing 25 of 42 passes for 291 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. The 27-year-old holds a 15-10 record as a starter across three seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Eagles.
