The Philadelphia Flyers signed restricted free agent defenseman Cam York to a five-year contract with a $5.15-million cap hit, the team announced Monday.

York notched four goals and 17 points in 66 games last season. He averaged 20:47 of ice time, ranking second on the Flyers behind Travis Sanheim.

The 24-year-old didn't file for arbitration Saturday. He's coming off a two-year pact with a $1.6-million cap hit signed in 2023.

Philadelphia drafted York 14th overall in 2019, and he's accumulated 19 goals and 77 points in 235 career contests over parts of five seasons. He set career-highs with 10 goals and 30 points in the full 82-game slate in 2023-24.

York reportedly had a spat with then-Flyers head coach John Tortorella in March that contributed to the veteran's firing. He was benched for most of Philadelphia's 7-2 loss against the Toronto Maple Leafs on March 25, then dressed but didn't play a shift the following game in interim head coach Brad Shaw's first game at the helm.
