Patrick Kane is staying in the Motor City.

The Detroit Red Wings are bringing the veteran winger back on a one-year contract with a cap hit of $3 million, the team announced Friday.

Kane's contract also contains an additional $4 million in potential bonuses, reports TSN's Chris Johnston.

Players age 35 and over are eligible to sign contracts with performance bonuses on one-year deals.

Kane, 36, tallied 59 points in 72 games with Detroit last season.

He initially joined the Red Wings as a midseason free agent in 2023-24 after recovering from hip surgery. He notched 47 points in 50 games during his first campaign in Detroit.

Kane was a key part of Detroit's No. 4-ranked power play in 2024-25, collecting 29 points with the man advantage - tied for the second on the team with Alex DeBrincat, trailing only Lucas Raymond.

A three-time Stanley Cup champion with the Chicago Blackhawks, Kane has racked up 1,343 points in 1,302 games across his 18-year career.
